The honest truth

Every painter says they're the best

Every painter in Lake, Sumter and Marion County will tell you they do great work. The signs, the trucks and the estimates all sound about the same. That leaves you guessing, and picking wrong is expensive. A cut-corners crew can leave one coat where you paid for two, sloppy lines on your trim, and paint on your floors, your counters and your furniture.

That’s why the best test is what past clients say. Here’s what a careful crew leaves behind:

  • Straight, clean lines on your trim
  • Clean caulk-and-tape prep before any paint
  • Two coats on everything

Who writes our reviews

Where do our reviews come from?

Our reviews come from homeowners across Central Florida, most of them retired and living in 55-plus communities like On Top of the World, Legacy, Stonecrest, Del Webb and The Villages. Every review we share is from a real customer on file. We don’t write our own praise.

What our clients count on:

  • Walls that hold their color through Florida sun and summer storms
  • A finish that still looks right years later
  • A painter who actually calls to check on it

Repeat clients

Why do clients rebook and refer friends?

The best sign a painter did right by you is simple: you call them back. A good share of our work comes from past clients who rebook every two to three years and hand our number to a neighbor. That kind of trust isn’t something you can advertise. You earn it one straight line at a time.

It also helps that we stand behind every job in writing. See the full terms on our warranty page.

A foreman walks the finished job with you before you pay, so nothing gets missed.

How it works

What earns a review like these?

Two coats on everything and full caulk-and-tape prep before a drop of paint goes on. That’s the difference between a crew that chases the next job and one that stands behind the last one.

Every painter says they're the best. So how do you tell?

You shouldn’t have to babysit a paint crew in your own home. The best way to see how a painter really works is to hear from the people who already hired them. That’s why this page exists. No stock photos, no borrowed praise. Just what our clients said, and the promises we make so you never have to worry.

Who stands behind these reviews?

McWilliams Painting is owned by Weston McWilliams, a working painter in the trade since 2012. Weston built the crew he runs today, and most of his painters have been with him six-plus years. He’s married with kids, lives right here in Fruitland Park, and takes part in local business groups like BNI and BEST 352.

Weston keeps it straight with people. He’ll even tell you to get three estimates. On most jobs you won’t see him swinging a brush all day, but you’ll get a foreman-and-customer walk-through before you pay, so nothing is missed. That honesty is what fills this page with repeat names.

Why does the right hire matter so much?

A bad paint job is hard to undo. Once cheap paint peels or the lines bleed, you’re paying twice, first for the mess and then for the fix. Living in a house that’s in disarray for weeks wears on you too. The reviews on this page exist so you don’t have to take that risk on a stranger.

Picture the after instead. Straight, clean lines on your trim. Walls that hold their color through Florida sun and summer storms. A finish that still looks right years later, and a painter who actually calls to check on it. That’s the quiet confidence our repeat clients talk about. You picked the right crew, and you can stop thinking about it.

Yes. We’ve painted somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 homes in The Villages and work throughout Lake, Sumter and Marion County, including Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares, Leesburg and Ocala. Request a free estimate and we’ll come to you.

No. Estimates are free, and you’ll get a written price the same day in most cases. There’s no pressure and no obligation. We’d rather earn your trust than push a sale.

You don’t pay until you’re satisfied. Before any final payment, a foreman walks the finished job with you so nothing gets missed. If something isn’t right, we fix it first.
