Clean Lines, Tidy Home

You want the inside of your home to look fresh, with straight lines at the ceiling and trim, and no paint on your floors, your countertops, or Grandma’s dresser. You also want it done by a crew you can trust in your house. That’s what interior painting from McWilliams Painting is built to give you here in Mount Dora and across Lake County.

We move and cover your furniture before a brush ever touches a wall. We tape, we caulk, and we put two coats on everything so the color looks even in the Florida light. When we’re done, your rooms look clean and your home is left tidy, not in disarray.

Weston McWilliams has been in the trade since 2012, and our crews have been together six-plus years. Your interior repaint comes with a 7-year peel-and-chip warranty, a one-year follow-up call, and a simple promise: you don’t pay until you’re happy with the work.

What we hear about rushed jobs:

  • One coat where you paid for two
  • Sloppy lines at ceilings and trim
  • Paint on floors, furniture and counters
  • No one to call when problems show up

What does a rushed interior paint job really cost you?

The cheapest bid can look like a deal on paper. Then the crew shows up, works fast, and leaves you with the mess. We hear the same stories from folks who called us to fix it.

You could tell they got charged for two coats, but only one went on the wall, so the old color bleeds through. The lines at the ceiling wander. There’s paint on the floor, on the furniture, and on the countertops. And you’re living in a house that feels torn apart for days longer than you were told.

The bigger cost is the worry. You shouldn’t have to babysit a crew in your own home or wonder if anyone will call you back when the paint starts to peel. Picking wrong once usually means paying twice, first for the cheap job, then for someone to make it right.

How does our interior painting process work?

We keep it simple and we tell you what’s happening each day. You always know who’s in your home and what they’re doing.

Full prep is where a lasting job is won or lost, so we don’t skip it. We caulk gaps, tape your edges, and patch small dings before any color goes up. Then two coats on everything, cut in by hand for clean lines.

That walk-through matters. You point, we fix, and only then do we ask for payment. No payment until you’re satisfied is not a slogan for us, it’s how the job ends.

Protecting Your Home

Floors and Furniture

Your home is not a job site to us, it’s where you live. Before we open a can, we move what we can, cover what stays, and lay down protection on your floors. Countertops, fixtures and trim get masked off so the only thing that changes color is the wall you asked us to paint.

We clean up at the end of each day, not just at the end of the job, so you can still use your rooms. Little touches like that come straight from how we’d want our own home treated.

It’s the kind of care that’s hard to see in a photo and easy to feel when you walk back into a finished room. Straight lines, no drips, and everything back where it belongs.

How is McWilliams different from the cheapest bid?

We’ve painted 2,000 to 3,000 homes in The Villages alone, our crews have six-plus years together, and we stand behind the work in writing. That’s proof no quick-and-cheap crew can match.

Can you help with colors and accent walls?

Yes. If you already know your color, great. If you’re stuck between three swatches taped to the wall, we’ll talk you through how each one reads in your light. We paint with quality products so the finish holds up and cleans up well over the years.

Want one wall to stand out behind the bed or the fireplace? An accent wall is an easy way to add warmth without repainting the whole room. Learn more on our accent walls page.

Painting the inside is also a good time to freshen your ceilings and cabinets while the crew’s already here. See our ceiling refinishing and cabinet refinishing pages if those are on your list.

Where We Work

Mount Dora and Nearby

Mount Dora is home base territory for us, from the historic homes near Donnelly Street to the newer builds out toward Round Lake Road. We also paint interiors in Eustis, Tavares, Leesburg, Sorrento and across Lake County, plus Marion and Sumter counties.

Central Florida sun and humidity are hard on interior finishes near big windows and lanai doors, so the right prep and two solid coats matter here more than most places.

Who's behind McWilliams Painting?

Weston McWilliams runs McWilliams Painting out of Fruitland Park. He’s been in the trade since 2012, he’s married with kids, and he’s active in local groups like BNI and BEST 352. He’s straight with people, so much so that he’ll tell you to get three estimates before you decide.

On most jobs you’ll work with a foreman who’s been with the crew for years, and Weston stays close to make sure the standard holds. The goal is quality over quantity: a job done right, clean lines, and a painter who calls you back a year later to make sure it’s still holding up.

How long does interior painting take?

Most single rooms take about one day with full prep and two coats. Larger open areas or whole-home interiors take longer, and we’ll give you a clear timeline in your written estimate so you know what to expect.

Talk to a real person

We answer the phone and give you a straight answer.

(352) 626-8007
Do you move furniture before interior painting?

Yes. We move what we can and cover what stays, then lay protection over your floors. Countertops, fixtures and trim get masked off. We put everything back before the final walk-through.

How many coats of paint do you apply?

Two coats on everything, cut in by hand for clean lines. Two coats give even color and a finish that holds up better in Central Florida light and humidity.

Do I have to pay before the work is done?

No. You don't pay until our foreman has walked every room with you and you're happy with the result. That's how every job ends.

How much does interior painting cost in Mount Dora?

Price depends on the number of rooms, ceiling height, wall condition and prep needed. We give a same-day written price after a free walk-through, with no surprise add-ons later. Call (352) 626-8007 or request a free estimate online.

Do you paint accent walls and ceilings too?

Yes. Accent walls, ceilings and cabinets are all things we can add while we're already in your home. It often saves you a second visit and keeps the finish consistent room to room.

Are you a local painting company?

Yes. McWilliams Painting is based in Fruitland Park, FL, and we serve Lake, Marion and Sumter counties.
