DeSoto began as a new section of the Village of Fenney, south of State Road 44, and filled in from about 2017 to 2020. The earliest homes are approaching ten years on their builder paint, while the newest are only a few years in.

In 2017 The Villages Daily Sun reported that DeSoto and McClure had been named as new sections of the Village of Fenney. DeSoto is in District 12, Sumter County, south of SR 44 near Fenney.
Real-estate records put the typical build year around 2018, with homes reaching into 2020. Listings describe patio villas, courtyard villas, verandas, designer homes and cabana villas, though those descriptions come from sales sites rather than official records.

A 2017 or 2018 DeSoto home has had close to a decade of sun on its original exterior. Some will look fine for a while yet; others will show faded south walls, chalky trim or a garage door that has lost its color. We look at each house rather than guess from its age.
If the exterior can wait, the inside is often where the value is. Refinishing builder-grade cabinets and repainting interior walls are two good places to start.

Compact exteriors that go quickly. If your villa shares a wall or roofline with a neighbor, we talk through color and timing with you so the two halves still look right together.
Covered outdoor rooms collect dust and pollen on ceilings and posts. We clean and paint those surfaces along with the walls.
More wall area, more trim and often taller entries. We price them by what is actually there, in writing, the same day.
Exterior color in DeSoto is overseen by District 12’s Architectural Review Committee. Holding on to the builder’s shade, or choosing one from the palette District 12 offers now, normally means no review is required.
We help you find what the builder used and what the current District 12 palette offers.
If your heart is set on something else, file an Architectural Review Application with Community Standards. The department is at (352) 751-3912 and online at districtgov.org, and we will help you complete it.
Fresh caulk, careful taping, two coats, and a final look around the house together before payment.

(352) 626-8007It started that way. The Daily Sun reported in 2017 that DeSoto and McClure were named as new sections of the Village of Fenney.
Homes built around 2017 to 2018 may be getting close, and newer ones usually are not. A free visit settles it, and we will not push a repaint that is not needed.
Yes. Refinishing gives a builder-grade kitchen a new look while the existing cabinet boxes stay in place.
Any shade that is neither the as-built color nor on District 12’s current palette has to go through an Architectural Review Application. We check what District 12 requires today and can prepare the application alongside you.

Exterior, interior and cabinets can all be priced in one visit, in writing, that day. Paint carries a 7-year peel-and-chip warranty, and we phone you around the one-year mark to see how it is wearing.
